I think muay thai is very effective. It's just 1 dimensional and no longer the dominant force it once was. Flowing, multidimensional arts like sambo and TCMA will dominate.

so now you're saying that tai chi isn't kung fu. Make up yout mind.

Boxing is better for boxing than muay thai, but a muay thai stylist can do well in boxing competition. Muay thai is better for muay thai than sanda, but a sanda stylist can do well in muay thai competition. Sanda is better for Sanda than training for MMA, but an MMAist can do well in Sanda competition. See where I'm going with this?

I'm not really posting this for Pagan2's benefit, I just felt like posting my opinion.

Not accepting reality = believing TCMA Tai Chi is the dominant ring style these days

top ranked Sanda fighters? Hmm... Cung Le doesn't train like a TCMAer... neither is Marvin Perry... or Rudi Ott... how odd...

It is fun to make fun of TJQM because he does not respond.
Sort of like hitting a pinata, or heavy bag, or an unconcious opponant.

No. "kung fu" is a general term for all TCMA. Taijiquan is the most complex and high level of the TCMA's. However other TCMA's like wing chung, Hsing-I, shaolin 5 animals, ect. are also very effective.

Taijiquan is really a double edged sword. It is probably the most complex style with the most potential. But it is also the most difficult to master and not all people have the ability to discover it's applications. It can either help or hurt you.
