Did anyone catch the last 'Best of Pride' on FSN this past weekend? Best yet, in my opinion.
There was one thing that was kind of unusual that caught my eye that I thought was pretty funny. During the Randleman/Rampage match, Randleman's shorts had "ESPN" written on the back. FSN, obviously not a fan of competition, blurred out the text. The end result was watching Kevin Randleman fight with a sizable censorship square firmly on his ass. You could still read it when he turned to the side though. It was strange.
Something else that was also funny was the Yoshida/Tank match. FSN actually made Tank look even worse in that fight then he already did. Not wanting to bore fans with all the lay and pray that went on in that match, FSN cut out most of Tank fighting in Yoshida's guard. The commentary was dubbed after the cut and the editing was pretty much seamless. So, with all the editing, the match went something like this: Tank and Yoshida size each other up. Yoshida kicks Abbott in the face. Annoyed, Abbott gets in a mean take down on Yoshida. As soon as they hit the ground, the ref immediately stands them back up, yells at them, and gives them both a yellow card (which the commentators never even acknowledge). Yoshida punches the **** outta Tank. They go to the ground and Yoshida gets the choke for the win. Both men are drenched in sweat dispite the match only "lasting" two or three minutes.

I know SpikeTV has cut rounds out of UFC matches, but cutting out actual stalling is more of a grey area. I'm not quite sure how I feel about that.
Fortunately the only Pride on TV up here is on The Fight Network and they run the full events.

A week or two ago FSN was playing Pride matches everynight.
Given that there is often about 18/20 minutes of stalling, I was fine with the editing. I already knew who won half the time anyway.

FSN also edits out most good GnP. I guess it is too brutal.

well If you see like rap hip hop **** you see the trademarks being blured so thats why they do that on fsn they need to get their copyright permission and since its another channel they dont want to encourage people to watch other channels besides theirs.
