Triangle Escape

I was taught a triangle escape where you stack all you weight forward onto you opponents shoulder and then choke him/her. They can't stop your choke because the cant turn their head unless they release the triangle. I can't remember how to do this, does this escape sound familar to anyone? If so could you please clarify it for me.

Squeeze the loaf choke maybe? (Basically drive your fist intotheir neck, holding the collar if they've got one)

If so it is a common defence to most guard attacks, isn't that great and isn't meant to be a sub.

There are a lot of ways to escape a triangle that is not-quite-on.

Unfortunately, the one you just described and as mentioned above, leads to an inevitable armbar.

but you dont get triangled then... could be considered an escape if you are perfect at armbar defence

I believe the escape he is describing is to grab his neck, his trachea is in the webbing between your fingers and thumb.Those are wear your weight is which doesn't choke him out but is cuts off enough blood he feels compelled to let go of the triangle.You'd think you can throw a triangle on, and you can...but it's trickier than it seems for a few reasons.One of which as he raises his ass up to drop his weight on his hand and into your neck he can put a knee outside your hip keeping it from slipping to the side wear he can wrap your arm.J-Lau can explain it better, it's kinda his thing.

I think you'd be better off learning an escape where it isn't a race to who goes out first.

Sounds like a strong man move that would work against a noobie who would panic. Far from effective technique. If it works I would question the skill of the traingle "applier".

Yes you're open to an armbar, which no one is perfect at defending.
