Eveyone knows how tough the french are. i thought they kicked so that they could hold a white flag in thier hands...just in case they wanted to surrender or something.

It is a simple argument of poor logic:
I had a bad experience with a black man = ALL blacks are bad
I had a bad experience with TKD/HKD, etc. = ALL TKD/HKD, etc. is bad

    Or, to add your illustration:
I had a bad experience with someone with $200 tennis shoes = ALL people with $200 tennis shoes are bad.

My entire point is that such an argument is wrong, foolish, and prejudiced. Am I saying that the struggles that blacks have had to go through regarding racism in any way compare to some pissant's opinion regarding MA? Of course not. That would be a foolish comparison. But, I am not making a comparison- I am using one argument to illustrate the ridiculousness of the other.

I think the problem, is this. The korean arts regardles of what I think of them, are more popular than most. by laws of averages, more people study them. Like most schools, Instructors want to open as many schools as possible to make more money.

This is a common problem. this means more unqualified low ranks are running schools. this means that in the korean arts, there are more goofy snot nosed 22 year old "masters" teaching crap. this in turn means more people are going to be exposed to the bullshido that is a majority of korean based arts. Does this mean all of them are bad? no. But most peoples experiances with the korean arts are going to be bad.

If there were as many japanese karate-ka as thier were korean artisist the same thing would happen.

It comes down to disreputable school owners promoting less than grade a black belts to make more Money.

That is going to cause the art "Biggotry" you are finding here. that is hard to get past.

Me too. I have to say Honestly...I used to be one of the biggest Korean art haters on the board. I have only experienced TKD in indy and it is in a bad state. derauslander set me straight though. It is a shame that The Korean arts reputations have been put into the state they are in due to Mcdojangs.
