You and your friend need to learn to respect submissions. No offense, but you did yourself an injustice by not slapping that armbar on tighter and your friend disrespected you by not tapping when he was obviously defeated.
Next time your friend pulls some **** like that make him pay for it. Don't break his arm, but make that armbar tight and painful.
He needs a lesson in humility. In a real fight his elbow would have been broken.
Also, if you feel your armbar attempt getting away from you, try transitioning to a triangle choke. -

Rolling is a damn good workout, muscles all pumped up, heart beating...works just about every muscle.
The only time I'm that beat is after boxing for along time, or straight blast drills...
We do the same thing, as far as start standing, spar, takeddown to grappling..my favorite training.
