Today me and my friends got together we did light work out hitting bags and soem other stuff. THen we all decided to put on some gloves and do soem sparring. I go against this other guy we fought just striking. After a couple of matches we decided to do some grapplng. I've been reading and learning alot of Judo stuff but had not really gotten to try it on a person. So me and this guy who was a wrestler but knew some JJ we started going at it and he took me down. One way or another i ended up on top and i was trying to get a pin on him but he brought up his legs and ptut hem around my neck and choked me out. Then i went for another match i ended up getting the guy in an armlock man i was tired! He would not give up and i didn't want to break his arm. I could not hold the armbar anylonger he would have taken me off if he really tried, bu ig uess he was tired to he finally gave up. I was ready to go home then i have never been that tired it was awesome. Just thought i'd share with you grapplers out there.

You and your friend need to learn to respect submissions. No offense, but you did yourself an injustice by not slapping that armbar on tighter and your friend disrespected you by not tapping when he was obviously defeated.
Next time your friend pulls some **** like that make him pay for it. Don't break his arm, but make that armbar tight and painful.
He needs a lesson in humility. In a real fight his elbow would have been broken.
Also, if you feel your armbar attempt getting away from you, try transitioning to a triangle choke.

Yea wellwith the leg that was closer to his head i kind of hit him with it and then slipped it under his head and finally after a while he tapped. Yea i guess ish ould have tighten up that armbar. We will see what happens next time. Man I had a blast grappling is fun as hell.

Rolling is a damn good workout, muscles all pumped up, heart beating...works just about every muscle.
The only time I'm that beat is after boxing for along time, or straight blast drills...
We do the same thing, as far as start standing, spar, takeddown to grappling..my favorite training.

That's true about how you and your friends should start to learn to respect submissions, just like the BJJ motto, "Leave your ego at the door!"
Go to a BJJ club and see if your friend learns to tap-out, cause for his sake I hope he does, or he'll be on his way to the hospital before he knows it!

Well, with some practice, you'll be beating your wrestler friend multiple times without breaking a sweat. As your ability to grapple gets better, it will become more of a strategy game. Good luck to you in your training.
