Man that article brings back some memories.
I wrestled and ran track against Flowing Wells. He is a paint mixer, a Flowing Wells High School wrestling coach and a personal trainer.
There was a J Kim TKD school in Sierra Vista as well. My best friend trained there and I did too for a short time before going to do Judo again and starting Danzan Ryu JJ.James Pumarejo, master and fourth-degree blackbelt at J. Kim Martial Arts in Tucson, which teaches a Korean form of karate, said cage fighting uses some martial arts, but the goal is different______

The comment, which I totally forgot to add and wanted other people to post first before I posted so it wouldn't look like I forgot to add a comment to my original post and therefore had to double-post was thus:

Actually that is kinda of a good question. BJJ is older than Aikido, Kyokushin, and many other so called TRADITIONAL arts.

So what are they? You should have a contest "Stump Asia" name the martial art he has no experince with, subsets don't count I.E obscure branches of Karate and such.

Guy Who Pays the Bills and Gets the Death Threats Style: MMA (Retired)--
The McDojos and Bullshidoka that they serve have co-opted the term "traditional". They're actually pseudotraditional. Wearing feudal Japanese underwear and bowing to a picture of Bruce Lee doesn't make you traditional.
