Should People Who Don't Kung Fu Make Ignorant Assertions Regarding Kung fu Arts?

I'll say this now for the record. Ignorant people should not make any blanket assessments on styles they no nothing about. Not techniques. If they know how a technique works then say something.

Stupid **** like:
Kung-fu guys don't spar hard .....well there are 100's of styles of kung-fu
Kung-fu guys don't grapple- ....Mongolian wrestling is sometimes classified under kung-fu.
Kung-fu guys suck at ground fighting.... well compared to styles that are ground specific that's probably true. But I'm allowed to say that I do kung-fu.

If all you've done is boxing or kickboxing, or bjj or judo you can't make these statements. Ew, you visited some Mckwoon at your local strip mall, they sucked there for all kung-fu sucks. That's like me walking into an ATA school that's teaching BJJ and finding out how sucky they are and saying all BJJ sucks.

As an aikidoka myself, I can't say I disagree. But **** it, it's fun and it does have its fair share of gems that actually do work on fighting opponents (if you are lucky enough to find a serious dojo).

No, I meant bjj. Most bjj schools you go into you'll get a good dose of BJJ, you go into an ATA school it's out the door with BJJ.

I know what you meant, I just disagreed that your analogy is accurate. I think most people that go to see kung fu taught actually go to kung fu places.

Ken, I've mentioned this before, but I think there is a distinction between places teaching 'San Shou' or 'San Da' as a style, and good CMA schools which have always sparred hard, and happen to compete in San Shou/San Da as a set of rules.

I think you're comments are based on not having come across the second type of school, which is why you suspect them of all doing Muay Thai with some throws. It's simply not the case.

Disagree all you want I knew you were disagreeing your analogy seriously sucks though. Are you saying that only ATA schools suck for the TKD? On the other hand you'd have to go to an ATA school to find crappy BJJ, wouldn't you agree. So if somebody came on here saying BJJ suck and he experianced a class and everybody here thought he was daft .....
