Benny "the Jet" Urquidez is different from Jet Li. One's a Kickboxer the other is the wushu movie star that performed at the Whitehouse

Benny "the Jet" Urquidez is a different person than Jet Li (Li Lianje). Benny "The Jet" is a former kickboxer and Jet Li is the wushu champion/movie star that your talking about.

movie was horrible incorrect, Huo had plenty of kids, and he didnt die while in the middle of the fight, he died after while having tea with the japanese opponents he faced. And he wasnt rich either. but i heard that he never actually fought O'Brian because they didnt agree on rules. And im pretty sure Chen Zen wasnt based on any specific student, just a made up character.

Much of the information I've googled about Huo YanJia range from the typical kung-fu 'fantasy' story to some more reality based information. I found one web site that states that Huo Yuan Jia wasn't his given name http://www.chinwoomen.com/history.html here his birth name is sited as Junqing. Not sure how accurate this site is but I'll leave it up to everyone heres scrutiny. I find the common threads throughout most information that I have encountered to be
-He was born into a kung fu family
    -studied Mizhong quan
    - defeated a Russian wrestler (but who didn't in those days?)
-had some bout with another European boxer/wrestler (most sites say this person to be Hercules O'Brien)
-was one of the original founders of Chin Woo
and died under mysterious circumstances involving Japanese martial artists.
All in all his life sounds like it would make quite the movie. Anybody seen it yet? on bootleg or anything...

Although I liked the movie it was grossly inaccurate.
HJL is right. Hou did not fight O'Brian and he did not die at the fight. And last I heard the decendants of Hou are pissed at the movie and were pursuing some legal action.
