Good job, Joe. His immediate irrelevant attack tells any reasonable person all they need to know. I'm surprised I missed this so completely back then.

Hello Tulsa area people and Kempo people in general.
Working on a time line for Hargrave's training and promotions is a challenge to my limited google fu skills. His numerous websites are intentionally vague about when and where he trained after Dill.
Apparently he started training in the late 70's (not counting his early kiddie time with Angel. Must Read:
He provides dates for a couple of accomplishments, but in general lists certifications only.
Has anyone on here ever actually trained with Hargrave?
Anyone know if he has an actual school? He was at one point training out of his home. His neighbors were not happy. (scroll down to case no. 19110):
More to come.

Pretty sure you're following this thread, so for your viewing pleasure:

Trying to find an actual school reveals he was allegedly teaching out of his backyard, consistent with the city council hearing for which an earlier link was provided.
Early Bullshido thread:
There are photos on some of his websites that show his many certificates enclosed in frames on the outside of a building. The photos only show a small portion of the building, but the siding is the overlapping style used on homes.
Does anyone who's seen these know the location?
Some of Carter's black belts in the Tulsa area listed:
On May 29, 2009 Hargrave held black belt tests and promoted Bill MAuldin of Texas to 1st Dan Black Belt.
Assisting Hargrave in the testing board was Shodan Graham Parker of Tulsa.
Mauldins also fought two other Kempo Karate assistant instructors at the same time, Jeremy Barker and Hutton Lowery of Tulsa.
Anyone know the above named instructors from Tulsa?
The Oklahoma Kempo delegation is strangely quiet.

If Carter were of legitimate lineage he would gladly inform those whom he received instructorship through and those he trained under. All true instructors can trace their lineage, it is not some vague nebulous thing that is to be unfound.
Notice how he says he is of the oakland school method? So now he is claiming some vague association through James Lee or Taky Kimura is my guess. Of course these people are a dime a dozen and I will hardly recognize someone of this caliber.
Lets face it, he is a giant fraud. Diploma mill, internet rip-off.
I find it amusing how most fraudulent grandmasters have some obscure name for their art, usually revolving around "kenpo" or some form of kung fu, usually changing the spelling slightly and creating a false back history with some mystical history to somehow support their claim.
I mean seriously, look at Kenpo for example. In the 90's Larry Tatum was frowned upon by the Tracy's and those directly descending from the Parker tree. Now they are all buddy buddy. It is a shame what money can do. I remember if you shook the kenpo tree, 500 grandmasters would come falling down out of it like coconuts, though there were no 10th degree grandmasters upon Parker's death.
Back to the topic at hand, just the fact that he is promoting a person through techniques is ridiculous. Any real student of Jun Fan kickboxing or original JKD or that even of concepts will laugh at this.
He doesnt even list whom he trained in Arnis / Kali with. What a joke. He probably bought some panther productions videos, learned a few techniques and then built himself up through self promotion and obscurity.
This man is a sham.

Sure he's a sham.
But for a limited time you can get 40% off on his instructional videos of Jeet Kune Do.
With hundreds of thousands of students, he has to be the real deal.
Phony bastard (in my opinion Carter, you sue happy sack).

I want to vomit right now, this man makes me so sick with his bullshit lies.
Carter, I cannot believe you have the nerve to sit here and lie to people. You are a lying ************ and I would love for you and I to meet or even speak. You are one of the most disingenious martial arts fraud I have ever seen.
Piece of **** scumbag I hope you read this. Neither James Lee nor Guru Dan nor Mr Kimura or any of them will vouche for you, not even Ted Wong or Jerry Poteet... Please mr grandmaster with direct lineage from the oakland school, who trained you? A person that watches a video from a magazine probably has more knowledge about JKD than you do. You make me sick.

Carter learned his JKD from Gary Dill.
They had a falling out. Check the very bottom of this page:
Carter put a restraining order on Dill.
Dill has his own issues, but Carter apparently runs from the Dill playbook when it comes to selling "learn by video" rank.
Anyone know how to look up his "over 100,00" book sales claim?
Jeet Kune Do videos for "true" Bruce Lee teaching.
All three Utube videos are from 31 July 2009.
