Listen to his Martial art history claim. Play close attention to his weapons claims as well. No, none of these links proves anything about the MCMAP claim or any other assertions.

News Reporters RESEARCH their stories. They don't just write whatever you tell them.

Hardly. See Richard Guerra, whose lies were published by two newspapers and disproven by a simple FOIA request.

Light human interest stories aren't researched the way hard news is.

And yes, the links are broken as you posted them.

Some news reporters do this. There are quite a few hacks out there that don't. Next time you're reading a paper check out the "corrections" section. Do so for a few weeks to get an idea how reputable any individual newspaper is.

The links don't work for me either.

    ...
Yes, these are known industry as fluff pieces vs. investigative pieces.
Usually when fantasy and reality clash, the paper who printed the lies aka "fluff" will usually print a retraction with an apology by the reporter and disclaimer on liability.

Sadly, not always. Neither the Daily Texan nor the Austin American-Statesman has published any retraction in re Guerra, despite the request for such a retraction.

Grandmaster is a Westernized term. I can name multiple arts that you don't need a "Black Belt" to start weapons training.
So, his claims of doing things backwards is false.

Yes, that means the reporter didn't do all of her research. Wait, you got pretty defensive. Does the reporter train with Carter? Are you the "reporter."

Oh and is your implication is reporters don't make things up?

Yes, some small paper in bumfuck middle-of-nowhere is going to critically research a fluff piece that's only in there because not enough interesting stuff happened.

Re: his award for "school of excellence". The paper doesn't mention congress or the senate, or who gave it at all.

Re: USMA. Entry requirements for these "hall of fame" organisations are so low that the accolades are meaningless. They're nothing more than marketing gimmicks and mutual back scratching societies. I suggest you do some research.

The rest of the articles are pure fluff, they prove nothing at all about the questionable assertions that are listed here, they don't even mention them.

Where are the articles about the incidents that involved the police? Surely "martial arts student thwarts car jacker and hands him to the cops" would make for a more interesting story than the ones you posted? Why didn't Hargrave call the papers for that? Oh, and where are those police reports by the way?
