That was part of my philosophy for ditching wraps. I sprained an ankle in football, and it kept re-spraining, even though I was wearing a brace, high tops, etc. Then a trainer told me that my ankle would be weak until I weaned it off of all the protective support, and likely would continue to get re-injured. So, I ditched the brace, went to low top cleats, and after a few weeks of being careful, it got much better.

So, after talking to some competitive boxers who went without wraps in training, I thought what the hell. Haven't had any problems, so why change anything now?

I'm happy to say that the ACE wraps did the job when I worked on the sandbag today!!! Yuppie!!! In fact, they work so well that I finished my workout without bag gloves. That is, I only used the ACE wraps, and I didn't have a problem at all, even with my right hand still in a bit of pain. Not bad at all.

I was never this comfortable with the ever-crap wraps. In fact, they made bag work painful. Maybe it was the brand, or maybe clothe wraps in general, but from now on, I'm sticking with the ACE wraps.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris
