Good old fashioned body hardening. I miss my old instructor. He used to wack the crap out of my thighs with a stick as I did Naebojin.

That would make an awesome skit.
Don't be so sensitive.
Take up body hardening.
SFGOON, did the sensei happen to be bald fellow? Might be same guy who demonstrated Okinawan Karate at Bercy last year. Way of the Masochism, let me tell you. :help:
Bald little churlish Japanese, yes. It was brutal, he hit the poor fat bleached blonde bastard in the gut and he curled up like a shrimp. Ladies in the background were laughing at him as he rolled around on the ground hacking up his own anus.
It didn't look like any sort of conditioning, it looked like pain for pain's sake. The guy he was doing it to obviosly had some sort of self esteem problem - he looked like a snowman with a gland problem in his gi. Obviously those years of body hardening hadn't done him any good.
I guess some people confuse taking a beating as being tough rather than learning to give one.
Seriously though Sanchin is one of the best Kata's I have found so far for conditioning.
Plus you get to breathe like Darth Vader
I vote this for quote of the day.

Here is some more use for sanchin. Written by my teacher.
