Maybe you should go to a Judo tournament to get a win in a grappling tournament.
And that's when I figured out that tears couldn't make somebody who was dead alive again. There's another thing to learn about tears, they can't make somebody who doesn't love you any more love you again. It's the same with prayers. I wonder how much of their lives people waste crying and praying to God. If you ask me, the devil makes more sense than God does. I can at least see why people would want him around. It's good to have somebody to blame for the bad stuff they do. Maybe God's there because people get scared of all the bad stuff they do. They figure that God and the Devil are always playing this game of tug-of-war game with them. And they never know which side they're gonna wind up on. I guess that tug-of-war idea explains how sometimes, even when people try to do something good, it still turns out bad.

There are a few guys in Japan here that do an x guard and stuff like that but I would hardly call it the standard.

LOL, mabye, but on the other hand, I could just go back to the local Judo club and tap out the black belts again, under their own fruity rules. ;)

I don't like sub grappling rules, I hate BJJ rules, but I absolutely loathe Judo rules. I wouldn't compete again in a format that doesn't allow for at least 15 mins/match.

I know there are some good Judoka out there, but I also know that Judo can be very, VERY ineffectual if trained in a narrow minded manner.

ICY, stop saying **** I agree with.
There pretty much won't be X guard since if a guy stands that ends groundwork. Which is gay as hell.

    Yes, that sucks.

"Oooh but you can fight a lot of time on the ground, as long as the ref sees progress". Thats until someone pulls closed guard.

"Oooooh but those are the sport Judo rules" then maybe sport Judo rules should change

Every thread is implicitly a Yrkoon9 appreciation thread.

There should be a whole sub-forum devoted to Yrkoon9ís BJJ stories. I particularly like the ones about Gazzy Parman acting slutty, (although such a thread would be worthless without pictures.).
Mauro: Coming into the ring now is Giant Silva. 7 foot 2, 385 lbs, making his debut in Pride.
Bas: Wow, that is one big guy!
Mauro: He must have an enormous Johnson!
    Bas: UrÖI suppose.
Mauro: What are his keys to victory here in the Pride ring tonight?
Bas: Well I think he needs to use his reach, avoid Heaths takedowns, and try to use his size to overpower him.
Mauro: I mean, imagine the size of that thing!
Bas: Now Heath is coming into the ringÖ
Mauro: Do women really like them that big? Doesnít it hurt?
    Bas: I really wouldnít know.
Mauro: Iím starting to feel a little insecure.
Bas: Letís just talk about the fight.
Mauro: Youíre right, el Basito. What are Heaths keys to winning here tonight. What does he have to do? What are his strategies for emerging victorious here in the Saitama Super Arena tonight?
    Bas: Well, the first thingÖ
Mauro: My wife says she doesnít like them too big, that itís all about how you use it.
Bas: Thatís not what she told me.

I have stated before that him 'owning' the term Gracie Jiu-jitsu is great. I'll bet as long as he is alive you will NEVER see the term 'Gracie jiu-jitsu' on a McDojo. All the schools that jumped on the grappling bandwagon and teach crappling are called like, submission wrestling, combat Hapkido, etc. I have never seen one that advertises Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.

Embarrased to say...But I lost my own thread. It was overly negative anyway. All I did was bitch and complain.

Errrr...wait. That seems to be my posting style.
