    You're taking it too literally.

It's just a general sign that you're playing rough, which is a good thing.

Boxing has been known to produce broken noses... but so does falling on your face.

By literal definition of the word...no.

In fact, aside from people like Asia and a few others, none of us really practice "martial" anything...since we do not practice for war.

But I'll agree, CE is a good indicator of lack of crap.

    Go play marvel vs capcom.
You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there.

Or a sign of rough, violent romo sex. :homo:

Jokes aside, do MT/KK guys get CE? I think I've only seen a couple of Judoka with them... lots BJJ dudes for sure get them. One of the green belts at my previous school started using ear protectors. He was the only one out of... say 60+ students that I know of. I think that was a smart move...

... speaking of which, Upa, why don't you get a good pair of ear protectors dude? The good ones cost no more than $30+. ****, if you roll almost every day, and you feel you are about to get CE, you should.

    It's called age

Seriously though, this is something I keep telling people. No matter how healthy and athletic one is, after a certain age, wear-and-tear begins to accumulate and show.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

"If you’re choosing a club, look for the broken noses and the cauliflower ears."
    Geoff Thompson.

I've noticed that no-gi tends to be tougher on the ears. That would explain why Judo players are less prone than wrestlers and BJJers.
