I saw someone get double/single legged into the bystanders at least three times. It was entertaining.

My instructor competed in the advanced geezer division around 170lbs and he only had one fight.

Next year they are going to do it on a different day than the karate tournament because of the turnout. I competed in beginner (under 2 years experience) heavyweight (200+) and had three fights. The bad thing about it was they had so many enter they had to switch from a double elimination format to a single elimination. It didn't end up affecting me, but some of my training partners weren't so happy about it. So you didn't miss the greatest tournament ever, but it wasn't bad.

If I had gone, we would have been in the same division. I weigh around 225 right now though . . .

Alright guys, I did a little searching and found the actual flyers for the events on Pedro Saur's website:

    http://www.pedrosauer.com/pedrosauer/main.asp

Scroll all the way to the bottom.

Flyer (same as posted before I think)

    Entry Form/Waiver

Edit: I don't know what rules the tourney will be under for sure, but I would operate under the assumption that it's the standard CBJJ ruleset.

Unfortunately...this is the exact same weekend as the PanAms so all the top people from my school won't be there. We will however have a small group of us going.

Warning to those who haven't been before:
This is a SMALL tournament (All White and Blue belts, not enough people to seperate by age...so come and get me you whipper-snappers). Last year there were only 2 mats even set up for the entire event. However, it was a good time...at least until the long drive home after my shoulder torquing.

Yeah, because it's so small, I'm going to try to be two weight classes below open by then. I don't fucking want to fight Gojira again.

Thanks for info. Definitely a tournament I'm seriously considering.

Kpraxx, how would you compare the size of it to the Hoosier Open? AKA How small is small?
