I'm under the assumption that Kyokushin doesn't allow punches to the head, but it does allows kicks to the head. Is that not true?
If it is, then that's probably why axe kicks and cresent kicks seem so effective, because you're not able to punch anyone in the head, which would otherwise be the prefered method to knock someone out.
