    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    What does this most resemble?

    Edit: context:
This clip is one of several traditional Russian martial arts shown from the Systema site www.systemauk.com. I'd really like to know what this art is, but short of that, maybe what it most resembles.

    http://web.mit.edu/mao/Public/russian2.wmv

It's a lot of whirling elbows and back of hand swinging strikes. I dunno what to liken it to.

But the haymakers are actually with the backs of the hands, not fists. It's like an inverted bitch slap.

    Edit:
BTW, that striking technique is part of Vlad. Vasiliev's Systema curriculum, which may or may not be why this clip was on a systema site.
I don't really see a big resemblance between this and Systema.

Don't you have some context for that clip?

Disagree. Wing Chun is way linear.

Kung-fu. The "folding elbow" technique and striking with an open hand, either on the ridge, contacting with the base of the thumb (that is tucked under the palm) and base of the index, or on the "seven star point" (the knob of bone on the outside heel of the palm).
I could also look like Karate, but the circluar movements are too reminiscent of kung-fu.

It's a type of Russian boxing, incorporated into most of the modern Russian MA. Elliptical strikes - you see something similar with some of the Russian NHB guys too. The actual clip on my site that is taken from is "traditional Russian arts"

    http://www.systemauk.com/video/TRAD.WMV

Nothing to do with wing chun or kung fu or karate BTW

    cheers
