Seeking good school in Denver, CO 80219

Seeking striking school in Denver, CO 80219 area within 15~20 min. driving range.

This is for to save a buddy of mine from WTF TKD (he was thinking of enrolling in WTF TKD school...). He is complete MA noob and has no idea which is good school.

I appreciate any help, personal recommendation would be great. Thank you very much.

EDIT: I stopped him from enrolling and he is waiting for me to help him.

I have heard many good things about a place called Grapplers Edge. A friend of mine used to train there before he moved to Ohio and he says they have an excellent program and I think they have even had an article about them in Grapplers Magazine. Of course it's a grappling school, not BJJ though.

Look for Enshin Karate, it's an offshoot of Kyokushin. Joko Ninomaya <sp?> teaches right in Denver if I remember right. They're the guys with the Sabaki Challenge.

    I train Judo in northglenn

Northglenn Judo club is pretty good if he is looking for that sort of thing. Cost is $18 a month and $2.50 rec center fee. so it works out to ~32.00 a month. good school lots of very expeienced Judoka. If he is looking of other martial arts there is a very good Kendo school if that is the sort of thing you are interested I would have to get info from my buddie who trains there. Otherwise he will have to shop around since mostly denver has McDojo's.

Looks like your friend is on the south west side of denver. No my area persay but he could get to alot of places very quickly if traffic is good.

I was under the impression that Uncle had folded his hands. The last seminar I was at he had senior students teaching almost exclusively.

One of Uncle's students, Keith Moffat, fits the Bullshido mould.
I think his school is called Kun Lun Pai, in Westminster.

I attended one of Uncle's seminars a couple of years ago. Yes, his senior students were teaching the majority of both days. He is an old man after all - I can't blame him for not teaching. Most of his senior students at the seminar had been with him for at least 10 years but some over 25 years, so it's not like noobs are teaching. There was lots of hard sparring so that base is covered.

As for Keith Moffat, I personally didn't like his attitude and would not consider training under him - but that's me. I know nothing about his school.
