Ah Dale - never fail to rise to the BJJ bait I see. I'm assuming you're kidding, but on the off chance you're not...

I could easily see jujitsu or judo being far more useful to cops than WC, largely because physical confrontations involving cops usually involve using the minimum of force necessary to restrain a person, and these sorts of struggles almost always end up on the ground. In fact, I believe getting people onto the ground is usually a first step in subduing them for most cops (and resident cops can chime in and tell me I'm full of **** if I'm wrong about that).

and as to the article... I detest the fact that his opinion will be validated among non-martial artists simply because he's a cop and must know all about "teh deadly" in hand to hand combat.
