it is perposterous to believe that TKD will ever be what it once was. come on, after realizing the money involved? and all the kiddy blackbelt parents paying money out the ass isnt helping either.
did judo get out of the olympics for being less popular?

I don't think you can compare Judo's success and TKD. Judo has been in the Olympics for decades. TKD has only been in since 88' when it was an exhibition event in Seoul. It has been an actual event for even less time and it is already on the probationary rouster for 2012, not really an impressive run.

Although your point makes more sense after reading it a second time.

I heard that they were planning on adding Shotokan Karate soon.
The Olympics are obviously a poor choice for effectiveness.

If you freeze-frame the video, the foot is sideways rather than up-and-down on impact.
Nope, looked again it was an inside crescent but what can you tell at 2 dimensions. One way or the other the other guy is still a ***** for gettiing KO'd.

That's the kind of attitude that breeds shitty fighters.

I read an article on Olympic TKD. The dude that wrote it suggested that the fighters should be allowed to punch to the face and to take the chest protector off. He said if the fighting doesn't improve in 08 then say bye to TKD in the Olympics.

It's reality. I'll take any KO I can get, then go back to the gym and keep working. Just cause my tornado was 45 instead of 90 dosen't mean I'm not working it out.

These guys are hardly olympic caliber... but the speed was there and the accuracy. The tech still need work, but it was a good kick, distanced right, timed right and accurate. 3/4 ain't bad. And who doesn't need work on their tech...

That's not what I meant. The whole idea of, "Oh, that's alright for now." They just keep using this as a rationalization point and they continue to not get it better. Essentially they just keep putting it on the back burner, never to let it blossom into it's full potential. Your mindset of, "Hey I need to improve this." is a shitload better than, "It's not perfect, but oh well."
