How to deal with martial arts tossers?

Im 16 years old and have trained in a couple of martial arts during the course of my life so far.
The problem is, being around the teen-young adult age, the trends come and go, eg: when Million Dollar Baby came out, it was cool to be a boxer, when Ong Bak came out, muay thai was the new thing, etc etc.
My age group is very influenced by the media when it comes to their lifestyle and identity.

The question i wanted to ask was, what about all the wankers that are in it to be cool? all the guys that train 2 hours a week and walk around school like pros? all the assholes who have been at it for 6 months and consider themselves deadly?

what is the correct ettiquite for dealing with people like this?

i mean.. i would love to just go over and beat the **** out of them, but it dosent work like that. if they are a kid you know, who is freinds with some mates of yours, and you waste him, some people in your group will proborably think your up yourself or think of you as some violent nut-job.

so it can be a bit of a tricky one.

Challenge them to spar.....and kick the crap out of them. That's what I always did.

You could just walk right over to them, Pull a knife, gut them like a fish and wear thier face like a hat while you do a kooky dance. :eatbabies

I really would not worry about it, only 2 things will happen.

1. They will join the next fad to come out and you wont have to deal with them anymore.

2.They stick around and become good at what they do. Remember you had to start somewhere to. It could take a movie for someone to be exposed to something they really like.

Guys who really do martial arts have a tendency NOT to talk about it at every opportunity with random folks. I look at peoples hands, ears, and nose as physically identifying features of those that have 'been there.'

I don't mind talking martial arts with these folks. But I will universally avoid any kind of martial arts discussion with people I recognize as not knowing what they are talking about. Although it seems tempting to try and educate them you should recognize it is futile. They will simply use your words in their next coversation trying to gain even more credibility.

I see that flat little lean gut of yours and I know you haven't 'been there'. Salad eater.

Plus there is the always the chance that you will get your ass handed to you and be humiliated the next day at school. Muhahahaha.
