Omoplata - is it legal in Judo?

Omoplata is legal in judo. Look it up in Best Judo. It's called ashi garami (confusing because there is a leglock by the same name in judo).
It was one of the techniques I have demonstrated for the judges in my last promotion.

How often are the more complicated moves (e.g. reverse omoplata) actually used and scored with, in competition?

in the homeland security section aesopian posted highlight videos of two BJJ blacks all clips from competition and they mostly use basic moves like triangle, armbar and chokes

I believe romoplata is Aesopian's name for a reverse triangle when someone escapes an omoplata, but I could be getting my Aesopianshido terminology mixed up.

romoplata is not the same as reverse omoplata.

I'm not too up on BJJ lingo yet, but yeah, I meant the reverse omo is fine as a sweep.
I had intended it as a cheap gay joke but my sense of humor sux this early in the morning.

And why not say reverse triangle, sometimes, BJJ just hurts my head with all of the silly fucking non-standardized terms.

Judoka don't need names for things they can't do, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Nice, Dick.

Reverse triangle and omo sweeps are good, don't take away the few subs and sweeps that we can steal (rediscover) from BJJ. Just need standardization so us cromagnon Judo guys can understand. Preferably terms that are shorter than 3 syllabals. :new_alien
