    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Chris Petrilli Videos

My brother, who happens to be an huge FMA freak, brought over some DVDs that he insisted I watch because there was some cool stuff on them. It was the Crashing the Lines series from Chris Petrilli and Paladin Press. Let me start off by saying that there are a lot of painfull locks and potentially crippling mauevers that were well presented in the video. There were even some dirty tricks that my brother and I had never considered.

There was some cool stuff there. It was both "marftial" and "art" in the overall presentation, so it was interesting to watch. However, I have to raise the bullshido flag as the complexity level of the maneuvers was pretty high. Much of it was so complex that IMO, it would be quite difficult to pull off against an actively resisting opponent, especially one that was swinging a stick and reluctant to commit to a close quarter engagement. I'm reasonably sure that Mr. Petrilli can pull off a number of these maneuvers on a less seasoned opponent, but the majority of the techniques were not geared toward what most people call reality. This set of DVDs goes in the "nice to see but not entirely practical" section of the video library and will probaly end up for sale (cheap) on E-bay quite soon.

In your opinion, how much % of it would be practical (or that one can at least pick up something practical)?

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

Less than 10%. The complexity level is too high.
