    Grappling or Anti Grappling

    Please answer these questions.

When someone tackles you and grabs the backs of you knees to trip you to the ground. Would that be called grappling?

When you have someone on top of you, in mount, and you are defending by having your arms in front of you. Would that be called grappling?

Are you trying for submission , recovery , position , base , striking position , escape , or what ?

It depends on what your trying to do .

I still think it needs some context .

Otherwise the striking styles will claim the clinch range and then BJJ will have to start on their knees all the time .

YesI would call that a tackle or takedown.

I'd call it "Bad Grappling" or "Crappling" as Os does.

The tackle described is begging for a gillotine.

The "mount defense" is begging for arm-lock.

Is this a trick poll or something?
(I'm guessing it's in relation to JFS and his 'grappling pics')
