Can't vote as I still haven't seen JFS in a real fight. Royce is hardly unstoppable. It's just the superlative that makes it unrealistic. The fact that someone even putting themselves in the same class as Royce makes them automatically "Bullshido" is just nutriding of epic proportions. Some people need to take his dick out of their mouth for 2 seconds and realize that he is not a fucking demi-god. (no reference to my humourous subtitle intented).

I honestly haven't reen Royce fight in about 10 years anyways (except for the Sakuraba clips from I don't know even when they came). So it's hard to tell how he even fights anymore. There's certainly no shortage of people today who could take out the Royce of the early UFC's. I assume he's gotten more rounded. Sure. But still, people throwing temper tantrums and pissing their pants about it is like gradeschoolers cry after you only threaten to take away their lolipops.

Actually, more realistically, would be a visit along the lines of what Omega was proposing and see if we could just get some kind of overall assesment of his fighting ability. Not grappling, all around fighting. Some kind of a serious evaluation.

It SHOULD settle all this BS but it might not. I remember Djimbe was still ridiculed and villified just as mightily even after Muay Thai champion Khun Khao came on and vouched for his ability. Apparently:

It's perfectly relevant to this thread. No is saying he is any kind of great grappler either so when you "rofl" at the thought of him fighting Royce you are talking about his ability to fight. No one said anything about Grapplers Quest or Naga or the Panams or whatever. Just fighting.

You've just got that one note drum and your going to keep pounding it regardless of the topic aren't you.

I'd still give 10:1 odds for Royce but just trying to laugh him off the boards and imply that somehow his entire being just reeks of "Bullshido" is going overboard. We've never seen JFS really try to hit someone for real and I expect he is one of those few who actually does have KO power in his punches even from a clinch so....I'd give him a fighting chance.

When did "Royce" become the whole family? If we were talking about Rickson or even some of the other brothers or Minotauro or any number of top fighters I wouldn't give JFS a chance but Royce, as good as he is, is not nearly as well rounded as a lot of guys out there. It doesn't take that much grappling to deal with someone if you have a big enough advantage on the striking side.

You are a good example of the fallacy of your own argument. JFS would squish you like a bug. I expect you'd be out cold before we could count to ten even though you have "teh g4app1E!".

The end question IS fighting.

Grappling =/= grappling. It is not a trump card. It does not end all arguments.

Maybe because he's a white collar professional who makes a mountain of money more than any of those UFC guys do already? Maybe because he's over 50 years old? Maybe you have been dropping acid and are hallucinating that MMA fighters get paid the big $$$. :5hypnodis

There's a lot of good reasons why you could think that JFS isn't a badass. Money and lack of octogon fame is not one of them. Do you have any idea the kind of **** those guys get paid? JFS most likely makes more than most Pride fighters even. Go do a search and dig up the purses on CHAMPIONSHIP fights. Peanuts. They do it for the love...and maybe the endorsements but the sport ain't mainstream enough yet to get Nike asking you to wear their sneakers.
