There are practical applications for canopeners and other cranks like that.

The P38. Now this is a can opener! This will open the guard right up or your beer when the fight is done. Courtesy of the US military.

The best thing about that video is that Bas trains in a Heineken shirt. Bas is my hero.

Canopener works well if you pull on the crown of their head instead of the nape of the neck like most people do. I've used it on bigger guys, so it's not just a big guy tactic.

At a glance, Bas keeps his opponent's hips completely controlled. It seems to me this is why this will work without too great a risk of being armbarred. I'm going to speculate the hip control is the same reason why "The Gracie Gift (tm)" works pretty well for the Gracies and poorly for most others.

... but I don't grapple, so what the **** do I know and who the **** cares about what I observe.

Tom, I care. We all care. As one.

Some fool tried this on me a few days ago, I just let him tire himself out and he tapped out after struggling for a couple of minutes.

Well, if RogueSamurai taps people that try it, I suppose I'll listen to him instead of Omega and Bas.

I submit this evidence of treachery to the Inquisitors:

Thats a good thing, standup fighting is much more entertaining than groundfighting.
For further proof of traitorous libel and general stupidity, I humbly beseech the Inquisitors to read through the heretic's posting history. For the good of the people, I think you know what must be done.

I'm currently out with a rib injury, so yes, and it's really not that hard to dig up a post you made a few hours previously.
