eye gouging and sidestepping down work against a shot (unfortunately you dont even know what a shot is, You should watch the first 5 UFC's, or hell, go to the local high school wrestling team)

The correct answer is "Sprawl" Followed by "crossface"and "whizzer".

Then maybe add in "Gillotine" "Pull guard" Or if you want to get fancy shamcy (and I personally do) You can toss in a "falling kimurra throw"

I spelled some of that **** wrong.

You need to stop starting threads and get your ass to real training. Military unarmed combat (unless it's of the recent BJJ inspired type) makes baby Jesus cry.

Aww gee I feel so hurt. Tosser

I've said it before and shall say it again we are comming from different POV's. That is the wonder of this site. Oh and BJJ is not the be all and end all of life.

Downward axe kick to the knee after sidestepping...And you were being serious.

You don't have to do BJJ to realize that **** is tantamount to the double open palm strike to the eardrum or the elbow to the spine response.

Congratulations! You are now the new whipping boy.

Yup, sprawl and guillotine/flying guillotine. Works more reliably on less experienced wrestlers.
Tough is not how you act, tough is how you train.

Actually the advice I gave you comes from folk/free-style wrestling, not BJJ.

And lets not try to make this about "opinion" or "point of view". It's not about either.

You just dont know basic grappling and I do.

    This is false.
There are people of the opinion that global climate change is a conspiracy by liberal treehugging scientists.
There are people of the opinion that evolution is false and that the world was created 6000 years ago.

    These are not valid opinions.

Ok one is MORE likely to deal with come twit who does not know what they ar e doing 95% of the time.
So you take your lumps from that 5% and move on?
How about this, train against competent fighters and have to worry about the much smaller percentage who do, might want to hurt you and are more skilled.

I'll list them in order of preference:

    Crucifix

    Omoplata

    Guillotine

    Armbar

    Sprawl

There are other things I might do, but that covers most situations.

I'll land flying triangles off of my sprawl sometimes, that shiiite looks purty.

armbar off a shot sounds hard though, how do you get it? (are you just pulling guard and working from there, or landing a 'flying armbar' ?)

The same way you'd get an omoplata, except you let the arm straighten and slide your foot across their face. They're interchangeable AFAIC.
