I'm not buying the baroreflex/arrhythmia link - got some citations? Instead, I find reports that suggest carotid stimulation may be used to restore rhythm. See

And you can barbecue his arm before you pass out (with a full lighter at least) I assure you, you will probably set yourself on fire while doing it though.
What is really comic is the fact that they drill a situation in wich you have a massive advantage on your enemy (carrying a 1 foot knife, the enemy doesnt know you have, at grappling range) and they are able to screw it up by insted of stabing the guys face or gut, trying to cut his arm in the direction of your own throat.
This my frieds is stupid...
