Ahhh interesting stuff.
Thanks for the responses! Yep, I hung it out to dry rather than put it in the dryer.
Hmm, maybe I put too much detergent in this time perhaps.
Unfortunately, the only wincing involved at my classes is me when i'm getting my ass handed to me by almost everyone - hoping to change that soon though! -

I always machine wash cold and hang dry. Like others have said, the stiffness becomes a nonissue during practice.
The only problem I've had is blood doesn't seem to wash out all the way, it only fades to a dull brownish blotch. As cool as it is to have blood stains splattered across my gi, it doesn't seem very classy. Anyone have any suggestions? Bleach (Chlorox) doesn't seem to work. -
