What's so bad about the normal TKD side kick? In the late 90's when I was doing TKD we had a guy who was 6' 8" and 350lbs. He couldn't hold his ground against my side kicks when holding the kicking shield for me.
My TKD school was one of the few good ones out there though. Do the majority of TKD schools really have bad side kicks? That's one of the bread and butter kicks for a lot of TMA guys. It would be sad if the average TKD guy couldn't manage it.

The key here is that Kikkoman has never made an serious claims beyond his ability...however, he is willing to fight anyone at whatever rules they want, and this often leads to him getting his ass kicked...there are BJJ comptetitors and MMA competitors on the MD TD Crew who routinely own Kikkoman s ass...the thing is, he gets right back up and asks them to do it again...his learning curve may be low, but the boy have more heart than anyone I know in any art...
And like I said...if he has the stamina to grapple and strike for four hours straight...ladies need to recognize what this boy could do between the sheets.

According to Sherdog's K-1 Fightfinder, all three of Serkan Yilmaz's wins in K-1 are over Seidokaikan karateka. Now the fightfinder isn't perfect but I couldn't find any other references to him on K-1's official website besides those listed on the Fightfinder. So I guess TKD actually owns Seidokaikan Karate.
Then again Andy Hug left Kyokushin for Seidokaikan. I'm pretty sure he beat up more than a few TKD guys in his time.

Andy Hug could beat up most Kyokushin fighters too.
But ****, the guy was a monster blessed with superior genetics.
Anyway, this Taekwondo bashing is getting boring. I will give the TKD this, they train hard.
Or at least the couple of places I have seen do. Hundereds of kicks of the kick pads, lots of pushups/situps and many rounds of sparring each lesson. We all agree that point sparring is bullshit. But if you can find a TKD place which trains hard and does hard contact sparring, chances are your on a good thing.Hannibal: The sworn enemy of dishonest politicians, source of entertainment on Bullshido and newly appointed Office Linebacker.
