    It's all politics, man...

    On another note:

WTF is the type of TKD that is included in the Olympics. Taeguk 1 & 2 are the first two forms (though he could be referring to the Palgwe forms).

    Taeguk 2: http://www.taekwondodelux.com/pomsee/1.jpg

Are those like the forms in KK?

No, he's likely referring to the Kicho/Kibon forms. These were created by Hwang Ki, founder of Moodukkwan, and very closely based on Shotokan's Taekyoku kata, as in, only one or two moves are different. Given that Moodukkwan was one of the largest kwans, these forms are still taught in many WTF schools, as well as Dangsoodo.

I know that TSD forms are almost the same as Shotokan's (to a certain extent). I was just going by the "official" WTF guidelines which make no mention of forms other than the Taeguks below black belt.

That's one of the big problems with TKD I think. One name, but many different people teaching different things. I've made the suggestion that it should be more like Karate in that different groups have different names. As it is, the only difference is in the organizations that schools belong to (or don't, as the case may be). Just take a look at the 3 ITFs, each claiming to be the "one, true, and only real" ITF.

Of course, with the large number of independant schools doing their own thing, this might be too impractical or impossible.

But then, there'll always be the students who don't know what kind of TKD they're doing, just like I've met people who do Karate and when I ask them what kind, they say "I dunno." like it's a stupid question.

Nothing terribly unusual. Yeah it's kind of stupid that "Karate" is advertised when it is clearly TKD...just helps lure people into their place.

Oh, and BTW Sirc...Meatball Marinara On Wheat With Pepper Jack is the King of all sandwiches, especially at Subway...what are you, some kind of fucking n00b?

Tastes good, but gets too much in the beard. Of course, if you want to save some for later in an easy access... that's what my dad always used to say.
