    Points for the kkk part.

Thank you for your positve feedback. Moron. Read the rest of the post you idiot.
okay okay. The reason TKD is better than Krotty is because:

1.) TKD was the best MA in Best of the Best I-IV
    2.) You're in Krotty.

    TKD winz againZ!

WTF?!@? :XXpuke: That is really the dumbest thing I've ever heard. All of it. Really. Do you do XMA and have chrome nunchucks? Is what makes your krotty "better" the fact that you can imitate limp pasta?

Sometimes I wonder if Phrost makes up fake accounts and starts threads like this to get a laugh at our responses.

I'm a supporter of TKD. I can hold my ground against a MT friend of mine with a little modification to my style (DAMN leg kicks hurt).

Anyway it all depends on how you train. Lately I've focussed on attacking with power and using shins to kick. Thats how I train at TKD. I use my front leg when the situation is right. I keep my hands up.

And a back leg kick will always be stronger than front leg. A front side kick won't be stronger, it would just stop the opponent but not damage them as much.

    So stop generalising.

I realise that this is a very badly written argument but meh, I can't be stuffed making it coherent. Previous posters have already made perfectly fine arguments.

Also, I said the kick became obsolete. Not that it became unused. The chamber may be used in certain situations, but coming from the floor is almost always better in every way and, I'm sorry, but I fail to see how if a foot comes directly towards a target, it is easier to get swept. It seems that it would be easier to catch a kick or sweep a leg if one could see the kick coming (eg: chamber)
If you are talking about removing chambering from kicking, how do you propose recovery? After the kick is extended, by just placing it back down on the ground, you risk your opponent sweeping or grabbing it. Snapping the leg back into a chamber keeps the leg from getting grabbed and can prevent front leg sweeps and can also help you set up for another kick. That's another benefit I didn't list in the prior post, that it can help you fake. You still haven't addressed the problem of not having the ability to interrupt in kicking without chambers and also that doing kicks this way makes you commit to the movement too much.

Not rampart generalizing. Opinionated observation. I've been to several TKD schools, as well as several karate schools, and the primary kick for TKD is the back leg. This is not saying that this is the only kick that is at the disposal of a TKD fighter, it just seems to me (and from what I've read on the board) and most of the people of these forums: The back leg TKD kick is the most powerful and overall "best" (?)
If that's the idea you got from this board, then I apologize, that's a really stupid notion and whoever put that out there on this board needs to be noobified fast. I have sparred/observed many TKD fighters and to say that TKD as a whole emphasizes one leg or another is not accurate. Korean kicking is accompanied by footwork, jumps, and spins, so much to the point that there is no predominant leg. And furthermore, the only way to make such a strong black and white statement would be to statistically measure the amount of kicks a TKD fighter uses with either leg, by a reasonable sampling of the population.

Also, you confuse me when you say that "Whether a kick is stronger thrown by the back leg or front leg is dependent upon footwork, hip torque, and individual's strength, NOT by whether you practice karate or TKD"
When you say that a kicker's strength depdnds on footwork, individual strength, hip pivot etc., isn't that the same as saying "How a school teaches it's students to kick" ? I'm not saying that ALL Karate sidekicks are more power than ALL TKD back leg kicks. Of course a 200 pound man will kick harder than a 80 pound child. I'm saying that (This is an opinionated observation!) if two, 200 pound men, one in TKD and one in Karate, both having perfect form, foot position, with the exact same physical strength threw a bacl leg kick and aslide up side kick: The one who used the sidekick would have a stronger kick.
That's what I was getting at - to say that a certain technique or a certain execution is more powerful over another is not accurate either because you can modify techniques to encompass different muscle groups and footwork to gain additional momentum. If you just want to compare the physics behind each movement, well I don't know that and if you can post whatever scientific basis you used to surmise this, well I'm sure it would at the very least make you sound more credible.

I'm still under the impression that this was a "Your style sucks forum". I was simply playing the devil's advocate. I appreciate your advice, but this seems like the place where I WANT to piss off an irritated TKD fighter.
Well the problem is, we won't entertain just any rant. Whatever case you are making against a TKD fighter, just want to make your viewpoints and facts are legit before making serious comparisons. If the arguments that you are posing are inherently incorrect, there is no point to indulge in your style war.
