What else do you call waiting for the other person to slash at you from well beyond arm's length so that you can poke them back?
I call it knife sparring or KumiTachi (Coming together standing). However Knife Tag would be appropiate.

I do disagree with you though, I do think that is an apt training drill. However, I would to expirement with starting in grappling range with draw blades or with the blades still on our belts.

    Exactly.

    Well said.

For how many pages did you and the other viado contend that you were doing realistic "knife sparring"?

If you think you can do better, come to the Mega Throwdown this summer, and I will be happy to knife spar with you.

Until then, your opinion is worth **** to me.

We contended that we were doing knife sparring not knife fighting. And I reread all my posts, I claim and still do that knife sparring is a helpful in learning to deal with knives. I never said that exactly how a street knife fight would go. I also claim and still do that learning to use a knife is part of learning to defend against one. If I gave the impression that our knife sparring was real knife fighting I blame lack of sleep as my posts yesterday were done while being up for about 40 hours.

I did notice you forgot to kill yourself though.

Dividing sparring and fighting is self-deluding and unhealthy.

How do you learn to deal with knives by doing something not even remotely related to a realistic knife attack? Saying it twice doesn't make it any less of a lie.

Remarkably convenient. How many hours had you been up when you made these posts?
