Schools doesn't make who you are. Trohpies doesn't make who you are. Your t-shirt with a school logo on it does not make who you are. It is what you do with your arms and feets that make the kind of MA that you are.

This is something the west does not understand.

People in Hong Kong does not like Leung Ting (surprised?), because he has corporatized the art, and watered it down.

Schools doesn't not make people like Bruce Lee. It is training that make strong fighters.

Nothing wrong with schools, but school have their dramas, reputitions, and limitations that stop you from what you can really do with your training.
Ever heard of the word "don't" ?

    You stupid fucking imbecile.

Besides your shitty grammar all your points lick goat ass. Not even worth a response.

    Ban this retard.

Sammy is not telling the truth about his doing MT or he has been train by some one who was incompetent.

    "Any street fighter can do a MT knee kick" {SAMMY}

That is clearly untrue ,you don't know the difference in the knee kick of the average street fighter and a MT Fighter, but it very great when it comes to power and form.

His OP has salient points (of which some are strawmen), AND he's an ass. He's some sort of flip-side version of Bullshido, where he hates on sportfighting but otherwise is identical to most members.

Fighting in a ring with gloves on is better than jerking off to Shaolin Master Killer for the third time in a night though.

Based on your comments on MT, I doubt this.

    [quote]
If this is the kind of fighting style you people think can protect you on the streets, or from a weapon attack, you WILL get killed.

You are able to spar full-contact, because the punch punch kick kick skills are simple and not exactly deadly. It's safe, therefore, you can spar full contact with it. But please.....that kind of fighting style is FAR from street effective (i am talking about sport fighting).

For the sports fighters in this board, I really suggest you take up some self-defense classes such as Karate or CMA. The techniques are truely street effective. Althought I do agree that some CMA training in the USA is not street effective (don't want to offend anyone)......since they don't spar (I said USA). But knowing what they are taught to do, and the kind of techniques that are being taught, I doubt anyone can come up with a way to practice full-contact within the US limitations.[//quote]

Non-deadly techniques practiced with full contact beats deadly techniques practiced without full-contact any and every day.

Kano proved it, the Gracies proved it, it's been proven over and over from time immemorial.

If you claim otherwise, you are simply ignorant.

Growing up in the ghettos, I understand what being attacked truely means.
    THA STREETZ!

With the techniques that they know, you should see how Japanese police and Chinese army trains.
The Japanese police train Judo. The Chinese army trains San Da. Try again.

Just like how MT fighters in Thailand trains differently than sportfighters in the US trains, they take their art very seriously.
I've trained with MT fighters from Thailand. They really don't train any differently than sportfighters in the US train. They've just been doing it since the age of 10, unlike most US sportfighters.

    1) Sports fighting techniques will not prepare you for the streets, just like the video I've posted above. Those that disagree with me are sports fans that have never experienced real street violence.
    No TRUE Scotsman....

The most common 'art' use in self defence here based on reporting is Boxing .
So here there are a lot of people who don't agree with Sammy boy.

A couple of points I would like to make.

    1. Sammy king is an idiot

    2. Sammy king has no idea what he/she is talking about

    3. I would put a grand on Kid versus Sammy any day, as this thread is a testament to Sammy feeling threatened by Kid.

    4. Anytime someone refuses to stated school, training, etc. is a good sign that person is full of ****.

Please feel free to add more.
