I agree on principle, but it's not to much for me. I'm 6'4", I could probably handle fashion imposition of up to six buttons on a suit before I rebelled.

The more buttons the merrier as far as I'm concerned. Means the collar has to be higher, and the bottom of the jacket doesn't flop around, both positive things, IMO.2 button is old fashoned
3 button is stylish
4 button is alright if you can pull it off.
5 button is too much.
And forget double breasted these days all together IMO.
Also, I know it's out of style, but I have a double-breasted Hugo Boss suit, and I'm probably never going to own another suit made out of such nice wool, so I still like it.
