When Katanas are made illegal, only criminals will have Katanas.
Katanas don't kill people, people kill people.
You can have my lightsaber when you pry it out of my cold, dead, green, three-fingered hand.
Katanas don't kill people, Samurai do.
I'm in the NKA (National Katana Association) and I vote.
Katana control means slicing through four tatami mats. -

Tell me, if she had a gun or if I reached for the knife instead, what would have been the result?
What percentage of people die from a gunshot wound versus a stab wound?
If you had an overwhelming desire to live, and your torturer gave you a choice, would you rather be shot, stabbed, or beaten?
How many murderers say "the gun just went off" versus people who beat someone to death?
So yes, people do kill people. But to say the weapon class does not play a factor in the ultimate outcome is incorrect.

I like how the reporter takes the shop's speedy customer service and turns into a negative. I pick up swords at the checkout counter all the time when I'm in line at the grocery store. Nothing's more annoying than having to wait for a price check on your scottish dirk.
18 inches is not a katana anyway. It's like a ban on assault rifles when most gun crimes are committed with pistols. -

I agree the assualt weapons ban is dumb. They outlawed a type of weapon, because it looks mean, not because it is more dangerous than a typical .308 winchester hunting rifle. -
