    Paul Vunak's 'Desk Routine' Videos

Today I went to the local 'Kung Fu Supplies' store to buy some instructional videos. There was an old Paul Vunak video there.I hesitated about buying it because a while back I bought several newer Vunak videos (made a couple of years ago) which while being good instructional videos are a bit annoying to me.He has a bad habit about sitting at his desk while explaining things to the viewer. It seems like he spends 1/3rd of all of the videos sitting at his desk.I don't buy martial arts instructional videos to watch a guy sit at a desk!!!Well I decided to buy the video anyway today because it was made over a decade ago by Panther Productions.I figured that way back then he had more action in his videos & hadn't yet come up with his 'desk routine' back then.I was wrong!I don't know who he has been using as his video adviser from day one but he needs to can the 'desk act'.It is totally annoying! Now don't get me wrong, the videos have good solid instruction but there is too little action & too much 'desk ass-sitting'!If he is going to explain a concept to a viewer then he needs to do it standing up while physically doing it at the same time.He looks like an annoying grade school teacher sitting at that stupid desk of his. It's a martial arts video not a lecture on zen.More action & less sitting is what we want.
Maybe I'm crazy but I don't think so.

P.S. Don't even think about getting me started about how I think that white gym shorts look totally gay.But then again I must admit that Paul looks absolutely 'dandy' in them.

Some you win, some you lose.

You don't like it ? Just throw the thing away.

If you get a vunak tape, check out: anatomy of a streetfight, the blast, elbows-knees-and headbuts, and maybe one of his kali tapes. Those tapes are a bit older, but they are still good.

Im not familiar with the one you purchased.

Like I said earlier; "don't get me wrong".The tapes contain great information but Vunak needs to dump that 'desk routine' of his.More action with less sitting is what's needed in a martial arts instructional video.
    Am I wrong?

Would you rather him stand while he gives you whatever information he is trying to get through to you?

I'd prefer his voice was overlayed to porn.

I would like to thank '5FingerzofDeath'.I decided to buy the newer Vunak DVD's that you suggested.I bought "Anatomy Of A Streetfight 2".This DVD was made only a few years ago (unlike the older videos that I purchased earlier). In this DVD there is no more 'desk-sitting'.In this DVD it is all standup with some great barroom brawling simulations at the end. That is what I like in an instructional video!!!!!!! PURE ACTION!!! LESS TALK/MORE VIOLENCE!!! I am glad Mr. Vunak improved his instructional DVD's.This DVD I would recommend to everyone.

    There's a certain irony here.

I love instructional MA videos. You don't have to read them, and you don't have to pay to go to classes to learn it. While it obviously isn't as beneficial as one on one instruction, it's better than nothing!
