Jut Sao in MMA

I absolutely love your avatar.
However, that would best be described as a "jut sao", not a "pak sao".
Just when you think you've seen everything, you see a MMA clip that features Wing Chun trapping followed by a right cross. Bruce Lee, where ever he may be, must have been smiling that day.

Exactly...that is the point of most Jun Fan trapping, whether it be Pak sao (slapping/pushing hand), Lop sao (pulling hand), Jut sao (a quick jerk), etc., etc.

But... pushing your opponent's guard out of the way is in almost all if not every striking art.

We would call that move an indoor pak sao and punch (but the punch here is not a wing chun punch) and yes the idea behind it is to clear the way first before you punch
