Zuffa claimed that they owned the rights to the SHAPE of the Octagon (not the Octagon Cage, just the fact it was octagonal infringed on their copyrights) and demanded Spike change the mode or face legal action.

They ended up changing the mode to be in a 12 sided Dodecagon cage.
Those games are brilliant. Has a ton of thinly disguised famous prowrestlers and MMA fighters. (Bas Rutten is called Boss Docken, Don Frye's called Bone Cry etc.)

I think Zuffa might have had a better case there. I mean, just look at the logo in the middle of the FPW octagon. Blatant ripoff of early UFC logo.

    Namerepus221 stated.

TNA's ring has 6 sides. Making it a Hexagon. An Octagon has 8 sides.
    Simple high school geometry.
I don't watch TNA so never really bothered to count how many sides it has. In reading your post, those TNA commercials came to mind. My bad.

Before the UFC was created, there was no such thing as fighting championships. Long live Dana White.

What the ****? It's like Cola-Cola suing Pepsi-Cola or viceversa. Must be some sort of publicity stunt... or is the UCF planning on suing other smaller NHB orgs like AFC as well????

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris
