The wushu stances are not inherently silly, they are like yoga postures. The silliness comes from the interpretation of their functionality.

well said. btw, where do you practice judo? I might be working in the Columbia area and I would like to find a good club.

Kidsapatula - sorry about your fight being cancelled. These fights get cancelled all the time. A guy at my school has had to back out of two fights due to injury. He has another coming up in about three weeks and he is still a bit injured, he claimes that he is going to go through with it no matter what this time but I am not sure if I believe him. ANYWAY, sorry about the cancellation, good luck on the 10th.

BTW, this same picture is used in many MA gear catlogs I´ve seen. I wouldn´t be surprised if the caption would read "kung Fu uniform 50€"

The fact that I find this comment so hilarious proves that I´ve been playing too much Neverwinter Nights.

The irony is, this is technically true.

I know I'll need some pics to explain though. Later this afternoon.

The "kowtow Buddha like a protrating fish" is clearly a yogic thing.

The other monk pics are not MA at all. They are modern Wushu. Tomas pretty much summed up my thoughts on the "monks".
