In my class we practice that pretty often though, like to make a hit while swiping the side.

I figure it's like a hook, but downward, I use it all the time, and like Yrkoon, I use it mostly when I blitz.

In Burmese barefisted boxing they call this a bullrush. The bullrush starts in the familiar boxing stance, left foot in front, then you leap forward onto your right foot, and land an overhead right. It's a crazy-assed knockout punch.
