Guard sweeps from standing AKA the LOL WE BOTH FALL DOWN thread

So, this thread is to discuss the guard sweeps you jump into directly from standing. Think Royce dropping to his back to sweep Gordeau.

I am, perhaps generously, assuming that my readers are not total retards and can put basic concepts like making sure he can't base on the side you're sweeping to and breaking posture into practice while rolling.

My favorites:

1: Baseball slide butterfly sweep/Sumi Gaeshi. Push, get him to base out wide. It helps if you grab his belt and pull. Even if the initial, over-your-shoulder sweep fails (it probably will, unless you got a big offbalance off your initial pull), you can easily grab and pull his feet, spread your knees out, kick your knees forward and sweep him this way (lol dogboxing sweep lol).
With my training partners, who are wise to this, I usually end up threading a leg through and ankle locking, belly up or down.

2: Flying kickout sweep (The Velociraptor). This is a standard kickout-his-knee sweep, except you jump up and kick out his knee while in midair. So, you know, not the same at all. Have an underhook or wrist control on the side you're kicking out and pull hard on that side.

3: Flying leg binding sweep (The Crotch Kamikaze): Again, knee binding sweep, done mostly the same as shown in BJJ: Theory and Technique, except you jump and do it from standing. Since his knees are going to be at least a little bent, you should probably come over the tops of his knees, kindof sitting on his thighs.

I thought black belts weren't allowed to have favorite sweeps.

Actually, I think Black Belt is having a favourite everything - your "go-to" move. It makes things easier.

Nonono, when asked your favorite technique, black belts are supposed to give really vague answers like "You know....after a while it all becomes one giant technique, you know? Everything just flows into everything else and I just take whatever's there."
