    Canuckyokushin,

While that may be a jujutsu site, the video IS of a TKD fight, fought by TKD fighters. The site hosts videos of many martial arts, not just their own, from jujutsu, to sambo, to TKD, to Shorinji Kempo.

Paul Doumbia is an ITF Taekwondo champion.

One last refutation of Pagan's nonsense.

That was one TKD fighter against another. It was not against a Kyokushin fighter.

Really how do you know?I just assumed from the website hosting it that the skinny white guy must be part of the SUGINOHA RYU style who was fighting a TKD stylist.

    Pagan, please answer me this........

If you wanted to see whether BJJ is superior to Shoot wrestling, then you make them both fight right?

If i took an oridinary black belt of jujutsu and put him against Sakuraba, who do you think would win?

That was a champion going agianst someone who wasn't one.

Now get a champion kyukushin guy like andy hug and put him against that chick.

    See who would win. :D

    Semantics :)

Seriously it does depend on which art. Hapikido is basically stolen as the founder was a servent of one of Ueshiba's students that was never formally taught Aikido.

However, Gumdo , Yudo and many of the others do agree with your statement.

    Pagan,

Jujutsu cannot be "split into Karate and Judo". Karate-do is a Okinawian Unarmed Style and Judo is a sport based on Ko Ryu Jujutsu. You lack of knowledge is painful.

Japanese Jujutsu or Taijutsu (can be used interchangably) varies from schools that use standing locks, to other that use mainly striking, and can't be lumped together as you are suggesting.

Also, I love how you leave out Japan and China has having any weapons arts. I can only speak about Japanese Arts, but in most Japanese Schools, there are more weapons and weapons kata then unarmed Kata.

In summary **** off and die. No one loves you.

I don't know about everything being stolen. What about Ssireum? (then again, virtually every culture has some form of wrestling. Forget I said anything)

As for the whole stolen vs shoved down throats argument, I bet the truth is a bit of both.

And TKD does NOT come from Kuk Sool Won. End of discussion.

Assuming is what idiots like Pagan do.

Their video selection shows clips from other TKD tournaments. ITF Championships wouldn't let a jujutsu stylist in. It's ITF TKD only. That and Paul Doumbia is a legit ITF TKD champion. I think that was from 1998.

Uhhhh...you sure about that? That's the first I've heard that it was one of Ueshiba's students...

Not to mention all the arts that were not influenced by the Japanese, but by the Chinese. Shippal Gi for example. Sunmoodo...etc....

Besides, if you buy into the whole "country of origin" validating a martial art...bitch please....

Taekwondo comes from Japanese karate comes from Okinawan karate comes from Southern Chinese Boxing. Everybody put their own spin on things. How the art is taught and practiced determines it's Bullshidoness, not what culture practices it.

Exactly. Not everything was stolen. Ssireum is a Korean wrestling tradition that seems to be from the same roots as Sumo and Mongolian wrestling.

While many things are hazy about Taekyun, most researchers agree that it is a uniquely Korean art, but of course, there are always a few detractors.
