I've never thought to use it against the single. I'll have to try that along with the self-defence drill

omega thinks he "puts noobs in their place". He does this to everyone. And yes, it's always really, really dumb.

Aesopian I think Omega needs to put you in your place with a heel hook, like he did to me, and many others.

I anklelock purples like a champ now thanks to omega's super sambo seminar! (AKA Throwdown #4)

I was referring to a technique where the attacker has a hand on your throat while you are up against the wall. You defend the punch, catch the downward kimura, smack his head into the wall as you turn around (if possible) and then throw him once you have switched positions.

I'll come back tomorrow night with a detailed breakdown since I can't find this in the Royce & Charles book.

Forgive my lack of clarity. I wanted to write up a self-defence application for the throw that I've seen in class. The wall-ram is an afterthought and probably unique to the one instructor who was running the class that morning, since he's both mentally hyperactive and hilariously sadistic.

Great explanation, I <3 the head and arm/tie collar/head and collar/whatever name you'll call it.

    *************

Start with head and collar lock up (if you have to ask then don't continue to read because you need more training)

Left hand grab mirror wrist, Right arm swim over uke's right shoulder, reach around and grab own wrist.

Force right hand onto his right hip.

Follow his arm down to his hand and duck your head under his torso, roll to back and allow him to float over you (yeah, I know, sacrafice throw).

(make sure there's no cage to catch his feet < inside joke >)

Roll over on top of him.

    Do Kimura.

    Practice until perfect. :beatdead:

At the grocery store two days ago I found the kimura counter to a single leg described in the most recent Grappling (with Pedro Sauer) on the cover.
Andreh Anderson, who wrote up part of it, posts at jiujitsugear.com if anyone wants a better description.
