Standing RNC?

I recall seeing this mentioned recently, and I searched till my searcher was sore, but couldn't find the thread.

Are there effective standing applications for the rear nakid choke?

If so, does the lack of control of the opponent's hips (by not having him/her in guard from behind) open you up to unpleasantness?

I've talked to bouncers that say they've used RNC from standing by knocking out the knees as they drag them backwards so they drop into the choke. They've all described it as a "hangman".

If I were Eddie Bravo I would just coopt it and force everyone to conform to my terminology.

Serious answer to the question: the ability to choke someone with an rnc is equally applicable standing as it is on the ground given the caveat that standing you have sacrificed a certain amount of control and safety (e.g. Garcia versus Rizzo, ADCC2005).
