The second video was 100% bullshit. The first video was more like 90% or so.
Some of the techniques in the first video are fairly common, but the execution wasn't exactly top notch, and obviously very scripted.
To answer the question, these ninja geeks would get reamed in a real fight.

I don't think the second video is bujinkan, looks more like aikido.

Would the stuff on the first vid work in a fight? Depends if you trained it under live conditions. If it works when the guy is resisting and free to counter as he sees fit, then it would be reasonable to assume yes. If it falters under pressure of aliveness then the answer is no.

Demos are most often done to look cool, and put on a bit of a show. That means scripted attacks and counters with complient partners. If such things are 100% of thier training then they shouldn't expect to do well against opponents that know what they are doing.

By the way; what happens when a BJJ demo is put on? Do you turn up to see some guy in the guard for fifteen minutes? :)

Yeah I agree the second video is complete ****.
The first though seems to be decent imo. cause my old teacher was an expert in wrist locks and joint locks and some of those techs look familiar.

The second video wasn't Ninjutsu. That was Aikido (not even Jujutsu, note the pretty pretty circles).
Seriously? The rolling around when the guy had the sword seemed pretty bad to me. Granted, I don't know **** about sword work. However, it looked like he could have easily gotten the guy with the second swing, but he just pulled it.

This will probably get thrown in "Your Martial Art Suck", as the "Does Ninjutsu Work?" argument has gone on for quite a bit.

Rather than form opinions based on a video about an entire art, ask someone like Shinbushi.

The videos looked silly, and even the first one seemed very slow and sloppy for a demo.

I was going to train in taijutsu but I observed the class first to see if it was a good fit. I watched the dojo cho get his ass kicked by a little girl with down's syndrome. 'Nuff said...

The first video was well choreographed but applying in a real confrontation against a resisting opponent is a different story.

I have seen the same gun technique taught in Haganah FIGHT programs, the idea being that if he gets the shot off it grazes you across the back (i.e. a flesh wound).

I've only watched the 2nd clip (because i read some of the posters said there was aikido performed in it).

I haven't seen any aikido in the clip, only a pair of wristlocks.

OTOH, the sword technique shown in the clip was one of the worst things i've seen in ages.
