    QJ,

I was going to mention Kendall Gill but I didn't think anyone else around here would be familiar with him or his fighting. I should have known better!

Currently Kendall is 4-0 but his last fight was a decision of a so-so journeyman fighter. If he fought a contender, Kendall would get worked. He took up BJJ 8 years ago after getting beat up in a fight outside a club.

Who I would LOVE to see fight is Ron Artest. Ron's dad was/is a boxing trainer and taught Ron to box at a very young age. 6'6", 250, with excellent foot work and handspeed, plus a shitty attitude? I'd love to see Ron Artest fight professionally!

Blooming Lotus: That was a bit hard to understand, I think you are saying you believe Aussies have the best fighters, correct?

    It's like this, little man

What do you want? Foreman/Ali? Get ESPN Classic or whatever.

Not only are their fewer heavyweights, but people prefer to watch them. Really, who wants to see the field mice chase around? So you see all the heavyweight fights, not just the good ones.

I normally don't even watch fights below cruiserweight.

Then, I guess you usually miss tons of good fights. Middleweight division rules, man.

Heavyweight boxing is boring lately, compared to the 70īs HW generation, or the early 90īs with Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe, etc.

Well, there is one heavyweight that truly sucks... Wes Sims.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

No love for Tim Sylvia, huh? Of his last 16 fights, win or lose, 13 of them have ended in the first round, 3 in the second.

I know, he's not the greatest fighter in the world, but since the number of decent North-American heavyweights can be counted on one hand, I think he deserves mention.

Besides, with a record like that, if nothing else, I'd call him an exciting fighter.

I forgot about Slyvia, he's good, but the UFC heavyweights suck. I'm the opposite of FatBastard, I usually only watch fights and fighters UNDER cruiserweight. Goes for MMA too. Did you the crop of heavies on "The Ultimate Fighter 2"? WOW that was bad. Rashad won, and he isnt really a true heavyweight.

Arlovski is really good, Frank Mir is returning, and Pe de Pano show's promise... hopefully the pool will deepen soon.

Come to think of it, I made a comment a few months back about the Heavyweight situation. They're dropping like flies; 2-3 years ago, we had Randy Couture, Pedro Rizzo, Josh Barnett, Ian Freeman, and Ricco Rodriguez. Now Randy has dropped to Lightheavy, Rizzo and Barnett are with Pride, Freeman has retired, and Ricco Suave is in KotC.

I loved when Frank Mir knocked Wes Sims the **** out and then I also loved hearing Wes Sims bitch about it saying he lost the fight because Frank Mir bit him?

He is a whiney fucking bitch.

Also, 6'6" and 200 pounds is not a heavyweight. Sam Peter would kill that guy. He is too small and he should just drop weight to fight in a lower weight class.
I'll make one when I can find one I like.

Oh and Australian fighters suck. I am sorry to say, they may be tough, but that is all they have going for them. I lost a lot of respect after Kostya Tsyzu didn't come out the 12th round with Hatton.
