Judo Knife Defense

Yeah.

Think of any world champion - good chance there'll be at least one clip showing his throw.

Kano. Geesink. Ruska. Berghmans. Briggs. Okano. Koga. Nezmekov. Parisi. Seisenbacher. Adams. Yamashita (both, the elder demonstrating kata with Kano). A good bit on both Yamashita and Douillet, actually.

Kashiwazaki's tomoe-nage. Nakanishi's tani-otoshi. Endo's uranage. (typing as I watch). Mifune's oguruma. Yamashita's okuri-erijime. Douillet's ouchi-gari. Matsuda's uchimata - my favorite.

Not so much technical instruction - mostly throws from competition. Kinda like "101 Ippons", but as a documentary.

Several clips from '64 Olympics, early Worlds. Quite a few from '95 and '97

Lot of good historical clips. Not exactly a historical reference, but good visuals.

If you have a commercial club, might be a good one to pop in to play in the lobby.

Only disappointment is that it's just an hour long. Still, for the price, no complaints.

I was thinking of making a thread about the Japanese using kani-basami to defeat foreigners in the first international judo tournaments...

...but I thought I'd pick a topic that would show how judoka have had their sense of humor surgically removed, as this thread has clearly demonstrated.

I don't know anything about Judo, BJJ, GJJ, JJJ or any of the other chop-socky rasslin' being discussed in this thread. . . but wasn't the idea of this forum that it would be a place to discuss BJJ techniques and concepts? Wasn't it going to be a great place to learn about BJJ?

This looks like it would fit a lot better in that "Your Martial Art Sucks" dumpster.

Unless, of course, typing opinions of Judo knife defenses is a BJJ technique.

So, first up you don't know anything about grappling even remotely, and yet you're still posting.

Second, you missed the multitude of BJJ and grappling threads in this forum?

Third, are you just here to bitch instead of contributing? (which is obvious since you've really admitted to having no grappling knowledge)
