Style: BJJ, TKD, Boxing--
I own 'Passing the Guard' by Tim Cartmell and Ed Beneville.
Great book and I'd advse anyone with the chance to pick it up ASAP. Fantastic realisistic guard passes for every occasion and unlike many of the other BJJ books on the topic, literally every pass in this book works. No ****. No Gracie gifts or anything of the sort. Just solid guard passing.
I've been reading through it very slowly and using what I've read each night in the class the day after. Been having damn good results. I used to prefer to play the guard game but now I'd say I favor passing, some credit indeed goes to this book.
Everything is clearly worded, well thought out, and easy to understand.
Nothing been learning in class 'on the job' but this book is close.
I've not yet read "The Essential Guard." so I can't compare. Hopefully somebody else will give a review of it, and if it sounds good I'll pick that one up too. -
